On Purim, we need to listen to the Megillah twice.
Once on Wednesday evening and a second time during the day of Thursday, March 16 – 17, 2022.

Wednesday March 16 – Fast of Esther
Fast begins: 5:11
Megillah reading: 19:00
followed by a cocktail
Fast ends: 19:07

Thursday March 17 – Purim day
First Megillah reading: 8:30
Second Megillah reading: 12:30
Third Megillah reading: 16:45

The festival of Purim commemorates the Divinely orchestrated salvation of the Jewish people in the ancient Persian Empire from Haman’s plot “to destroy, kill and annihilate all the Jews, young and old, infants and women, in a single day.” It is celebrated with Megillah readings, gifts of food, charity, feasting, and merriment.
